Please introduce and tell the readers about yourself.
My name is Kiammie Spann, and I am the Founder and Visionary of Embers of the South Sustainability Ent., a sustainability-focused organization dedicated to environmental education, holistic wellness, agricultural literacy, self-sufficiency, and community empowerment. My work centers on reconnecting people with the land, traditional knowledge, and sustainable practices that strengthen families and communities for generations to come.
Ms. Kiammie Spann, you are the Founder of Embers of the South Sustainability Ent. Tell the readers about your organization and what services you offer to your clients.
Embers of the South Sustainability Ent. is a community-centered organization focused on helping individuals and families live healthier, more sustainable lives. We provide environmental and agricultural education, herbalism instruction, wellness consulting, preparedness training, sustainability workshops, youth education programs, homesteading education, community outreach initiatives, and cultural heritage programming. Our goal is to make sustainable living practical, accessible, and empowering for everyone.
How did your journey into holistic wellness begin?
My journey into holistic wellness began through personal experiences that taught me the importance of advocating for my health and well-being. I became increasingly interested in understanding how nutrition, herbal remedies, environmental factors, mental wellness, and lifestyle choices influence overall health. That curiosity evolved into years of study, hands-on practice, and a commitment to helping others access wellness resources that honor both science and traditional knowledge.
How did your organization evolve from a personal passion into a professional venture?
What started as a personal passion for sustainability, herbalism, environmental stewardship, and education naturally grew into a larger mission. As I shared knowledge with friends, families, and community members, I recognized a significant need for accessible education and practical solutions. Embers of the South was born from the desire to create lasting impact through programs that empower people to become more resilient, informed, and connected to their communities.
What inspired your commitment to environmental education and interest in preparedness and self-sufficiency?
Environmental education and preparedness go hand in hand. I believe communities are stronger when they understand where their food comes from, how natural systems work, and how to care for themselves during times of uncertainty. My passion stems from a desire to preserve knowledge, strengthen community resilience, and ensure future generations have the skills needed to thrive regardless of circumstances.
What role does food play in holistic wellness?
Food is foundational to holistic wellness. It nourishes not only our bodies but also our communities, cultures, and economies. Access to nutritious food, knowledge of food production, and understanding the connection between soil health and human health are all essential components of overall well-being. Food can be medicine, prevention, connection, and empowerment.
What are your future goals for expanding the message of sustainability?
My goal is to expand sustainability education through community programs, workshops, youth initiatives, partnerships, speaking engagements, and digital learning opportunities. I hope to continue building bridges between environmental stewardship, wellness, agriculture, and cultural preservation while making sustainability education accessible to diverse audiences.

We are also creating initiatives focused on women's wellness, skill-building, self-sufficiency, entrepreneurship, and family-centered education. These programs are designed to cultivate confidence, resilience, and practical life skills while fostering stronger community connections.
What advice would you give to women who are interested in holistic wellness and starting eco-conscious wellness brands?

Sustainability is not just a business model; it is a commitment to people, purpose, and long-term impact. Allow your passion and integrity to guide your growth.
