Bio:
Dr. Lashonda Wofford is a WOG, wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a friend, and a proven CEO. She has founded and built several successful organizations, including The Affirmation Collection and L&S Consulting Group. Wofford And Williams Inc dba Akins Helping Hands which is a 7-figure Home Care Business based out of Hope Mills, North Carolina. She is also the proud owner of EmpowerHer Legacy; Purposeful Collective. She is a community advocate and personal development partner who encourages all to bet on themselves through her All Bets on Me platform on Facebook. Her newest business ventures are The All Bets on Me Academy, and Akins Global Diagnostics Laboratory Solutions, both launched in the Spring of 2024.
Through various pains and struggles, Dr. Wofford has learned to bet on herself and accomplish her goals despite adversities. She is a successful businesswoman of color who breaks the ceiling and creates tables for other women to have the same opportunities as she has. You founded and built several successful organizations. Tell us about “L & S Consulting Group” and “Wofford & Williams Inc. DBA Akins Helping Hands.
L & S Consulting Group was created to new and existing business owners in the home care industry. We provide consulting services to assist with starting a home care business, to learning the day-to-day operations, how to grow and scale their home care business, and how to bill Medicaid claims and private insurance claims. Wofford And Williams is the corporate umbrella for Akins Helping Hands. Akins Helping Hands was birthed from a personal tragedy over twenty years ago. Our clinical team is led by my daughter who has a bachelor's degree in nursing and is now pursuing a master's in nursing at Duke University to become an FNP. Our clinical and care team is made up of a team of Personal Care Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses. Our care team provides limited to extensive hands-on assistance to individuals who suffer from illness or injuries due to physical and or cognitive impairments, in the privacy and comforts of their home. www.akinshelpinghands.com
Dr. Wofford, a few of your accomplishments are serving in the following roles as a Certified Executive Leadership Coach, Certified Life Recovery Coach, Certified Mental Health Counselor, and Certified Transformation Coach. Tell us about these great accomplishments and the services you offer.
Being an accredited Life Coach and Instructor is so rewarding to work with individuals under each sector of life coaching. I offer group coaching, one-on-one coaching and peer support. In the Instructor sector I get to develop others leaders as I certify, mentor and equip individual to become Life Coaches and Counselors. Looking through the lens of both sectors, the one common denominator is the transformation that has the honor of witnessing. When people come to be to receive coaching services or to become certified to become a life coach, they're looking for change to embark on a new journey or to find their way back to life as they once knew it to be.
Dr. Wofford, I know you are a Best-Selling Authors of several books. What is your book, “Pain Equals Purpose” about and the reason you wrote it.
Yes! Pain Equals Purpose is the story of my life. This book is a story of truth, resilience, hope, strength and triumph. It is my personal journey and how God turned my Pain into Purpose. When God gave me the download for the book and told me to write my story, I was afraid. Why? Because my story is not a story filled with glitz and glam nor is it all golden. My story is filled with lots of pieces bad, ugly, good and lots of pain but it's my truth. I was afraid of what people would say or think about me if they knew about the things I tried to hide. God assured me that all I needed to do was write the story and he would take care of the rest. Pain equals Purpose has changed lives globally and has given others the courage to speak out and tell their truth. For many it provided hope that one day the chains that have held them in bondage will be broken when they stand in their truth and find the purpose in their pain.
You were a co-author in the book, “Becoming Her: A Woman’s Path to Purpose, Self-Love, and Fulfillment. Tell us about your chapter in the book.
Becoming Her was another favorite because it allowed me to flow in God and share from a place of wholeness. The name of my chapter is Self-Forgiveness: Pathway to Freedom. I shared in this chapter that forgiveness for myself was a part of me Becoming Her, which is who people see me as today. Harboring unforgiveness in our hearts is unhealthy and it yields no positive results rather it's against ourselves or others. Self-Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do but the most liberating. I shared practical tips and tools to help others along their journey to self- forgiveness. I was grateful to be a part of the book collaboration.

Of course. The thing that I love about all the books that I have written or been a part of were all inspiring with messages of encouragement and hope. You are the host of “All Bets On Me Podcast.” Tell the readers about your podcast and where can we tune in to listen?
The All Bets On Me Podcast is in our second season. We hit International status during season one. This the only podcast for women of all ages and stages who are ready to transform her pain, learn the lessons, and become of service to others while learning and teaching others how to live outside of the pain. The international podcast is here to empower, inspire, uplift, support, and equip women with practical, tips, tools, and advice. Every other Wednesday we drop a new episode. Recently, you were interviewed on “Story Time Podcast Talk Show.” Tell us the topic you spoke about, and your experience being featured on the show.
Story Time Podcast Talk Show was great. We talked about my story from being a wife and a mother to a full-time caregiver to my late husband all while caring for our daughter who was only five years old at the time of his injury. We discussed how I devoted my twenties to caring for him. We also talked about how the home care agency was birthed through this situation, showing how my one yes over twenty years ago was the beginning of my purpose walk.
This month you are an Honoree at the “I’m My Sister’s Keeper Retreat.” Congratulations to you on being honor in this month of March as we celebrate “Women’s History Month.” Tell the readers about this great accomplishment as an honoree at the “I’m My Sister’s Keeper Retreat.
Yes! I will be honored at this event. God has really blown me away with this one. The host of the event Mrs. Tiffany McIntosh reached out to me to inform me that she had several women tell her about me and the great works that I am doing and they thought I should be honored with The My Sisters Keeper award. After speaking with Mrs. McIntosh and looking into to her organizations and the great works that she is doing in the earth, I knew this was a kingdom connection.
You attended the “Claim Your Throne Conference” with other amazing women. Tell us about the “Claim Your Throne Conference.”
I am still on a high from attending The Claim Your Throne Conference. This year's theme was Scaling Your Dreams Into 7- Figure Realities. The conference was nothing short of amazing. Hosted by the Remarkable Dr. Catherine Latoya Grant-Alston, which also happens to be my Biz Bestie. This was the first conference that I attended and my husband could attend as also. To have a space where we both can be motivated, inspired and poured into has husband and wife and business professionals was wonderful. Being a 7-figure earner, I had the opportunity to be one of the phenomenal keynote speakers that graced the stage. The atmosphere was electrifying and my husband and I were able to share this experience together. I had the pleasure of having two of the members from my EmpowerHer Legacy; Purposeful Collective which is my coaching group attend. They are ignited and excited about growing and scaling their business and I love it.
Do you have any upcoming conferences, events, or workshops?
I have a conference that I am planning for later this year or early next year, it all just depends on the availability of the venue I have in mind. I have a few book projects scheduled to be released this year. The first one is a collaboration called Market Place Mogul: The Path to Entrepreneurship, Visionary Author Alandra Loyd, the second one is Called Girl Let That Go, Visionary Author Dr. Frances Ann Bailey. The third one, is titled Breaking The Chains; Liberating Our Lineage From Generational Curses Visionary Author Dr. Lashonda Wofford.
