Ms. Angela Fafali Nyarko is an author who creates opportunities and paves the way for others. Tell us about what you are doing to make a positive impact in your community.

In the tapestry of life, our purpose threads through every moment, weaving a story that resonates far beyond ourselves. For me, my purpose-driven life is: To make a positive impact on 1,000s of homeschoolers worldwide.

On a grand scale, I serve as a catalyst for families, illuminating the path to homeschooling and offering the legal status to do so in the beautiful state of South Carolina. I supply the essential resources, the building blocks of education, that empower families to educate their children at home with confidence and efficiency. Through the canvas of social media, I paint a vivid portrait of home education, extending a special invitation to families of color and marginalized backgrounds, ensuring that the tapestry of learning is rich and diverse. Yet, the most intimate brushstrokes in this masterpiece are the ones that depict my personal journey. As a woman of color, I've birthed four children, embraced four more through adoption, and homeschooled them all for 23 remarkable years. My life, like an open book, encourages women to create the lives they envision, unapologetically. I remind them to nurture themselves first, from that wellspring of self-care flows the abundant and scrumptious life they desire. My goal and passion are to create a narrative of empowerment, education, and self-fulfillment, and I'm honored to be able to create and live this extraordinary journey.

You are the Founder and Owner of “A United Community of Homeschoolers Unlimited.”

Tell the readers about AUCHU and the reason you created it.

Well, a remarkable journey began a decade ago when "A United Community of Homeschoolers Unlimited" (AUCHU) first took shape under the name "United Community of Homeschoolers Unlimited." My organization's inception was a response to the unmet, unsupported, and unnoticed homeschooling needs I and many other homeschooling families in South Carolina who were members of the same Option 3 organization back in 2014 experienced.

Additionally, as a passionate homeschooling parent and member of an Option 3 homeschool association, I recognized a glaring gap in the support system available to homeschoolers. The absence of representation for a black-owned Option 3 homeschool association in South Carolina underscored the need for change. With a dream and vision in my heart, I embarked on a mission to create an association that not only addressed these shortcomings but also resonated with countless families sharing similar desires. The name change from "United" to "A United" symbolized my organization's unwavering commitment to unity, solidarity, and focus. AUCHU stands as a beacon for all South Carolina families seeking to educate their children at home.

As AUCHU celebrates its 10th year in 2023/2024, it stands as a testament to my dedication and purpose. Through this remarkable journey, AUCHU continues to empower families, providing them with the support and resources needed to navigate the wonderful world of homeschooling.

Ms. Angela Fafali Nyarko, you are an author of several inspirational homeschool journals. Congratulations on your wonderful journals. I have a copy of “Homeschoolers’ Affirmations and Gratitude Journal-Parent Volume 1.” Tell us about this journal.

This journal is a labor of love, born from the daily affirmations I shared on my Girlfriend's Guide to Homeschooling with Angela Fafali Nyarko’s Facebook page.

It all started with a desire to uplift and encourage the incredible women who follow my page, and the response was overwhelming. These affirmations became a daily ritual, a beacon of positivity for their homeschooling journeys. Then, something magical happened. Many of these amazing women suggested turning these affirmations into a book. That's when the 'Homeschoolers Gratitude and Affirmations Journal, Parent” Volume 1 and 2 were born. Each has 90 days of affirmations and gratitude journaling. The two Volumes together will span over the 180-day required homeschooling days in SC. Any parent can utilize the journals from any state. Simultaneously, I was sharing these affirmations and journal prompts with my own children. It dawned on me that these same tools could benefit other homeschooling students. Thus, the Student Volume was brought to life. The student journal allows for 90 days of affirmations and journaling as well as gratitude entry. The heartfelt reviews and stories from those who've used these journals have been nothing short of inspiring. Affirmations are transformative tools that everyone can benefit from, resetting your thinking and paving the way for your desired outcomes. Be sure to get YOURSELF and YOUR CHILDREN personal copies.

What advice would you give to parents who are thinking about homeschooling their children? My greatest advice is to JUST DO IT! That’s it. Short and simple.

The investment you will make in your child’s education MUST outshine any fears, worry, apprehension, or concerns. Who else will be your child’s SUPREME educational advocate but YOU?
