You recently became an author of your first book, “Character Traits Journal for Kids:

I am the Future.” Congratulations. Tell the readers about your book.

Thank you! I'm thrilled to share my passion project with you all - my new book, "I Am the Future." As a mom, I wanted to instill positive character traits in my own kids. I wanted to encourage them to be aware of their behavior and how it affects others, to practice gratitude, and to maintain a positive mindset. And so, this journal was born!

It's an easy-to-use journal for kids that focuses on building positive character traits. Throughout the journal, I've also highlighted amazing African Americans who have made a significant difference in our communities, both then and now. Plus, there are coloring pages scattered throughout with words of affirmation and positive statements.

This book is a true labor of love, and I'm beyond excited to offer it to the community. Let's work together to build a future generation that is kind, empathetic, grateful, and resilient!

You are a Homeschool Educator and Parent. What inspirational advice would you give to parents who want to homeschool their children, but do not feel confident enough to start homeschooling their children?

As a homeschool educator and parent myself, I understand that the decision to homeschool your children can be daunting. My advice to parents who may not feel confident enough to start homeschooling is to question the system that made you question your ability in the first place. Do not doubt your ability to homeschool your children.

I also want to remind parents that they don't have to do it all, and they don't have to do it alone. It's okay if you don't have all the tools you need to homeschool your children. Remember, our homeschooling community is here to serve you and offer assistance. There's nothing wrong with outsourcing what you don't know, and you shouldn't feel guilty about it.

Lastly, I want to emphasize that we all have doubts from time to time. It's normal to question whether you're moving in the right direction or feel guilty sometimes. When faced with these feelings, it's important to recognize them, question where they're coming from, and ask yourself whether there's evidence to support them. If the evidence isn't there, dismiss it. If it is there, then figure out what steps you need to take to get out of that place and move forward.

At the end of the day, we all want what's best for our children, and you can do this. Homeschooling can be a rewarding experience, and I encourage parents to believe in themselves and trust that they have the ability to provide a quality education for their children.

What is one of your greatest accomplishments?

One of my greatest accomplishments is being graced to be the mother of six amazing children within a successful marriage. Always remembering who I am in Christ Jesus first and being grateful for the undying support of my husband and the daily motivation and encouragement of my children. Without their unwavering support, I wouldn't be where I am today nor would I have accomplished everything else that I'm proud of. My God and my family are my solid foundation, and I'm grateful for their constant presence in my life.

Do you have any upcoming conferences, events, or workshops?

Yes! We are always working and here to serve the community! In addition to the workshops we currently have on the books, we are also open to suggestions. Tell us what you need, and we’ll see if we can support you!

Success does not come from luck or chance but from hard work and determination. As entrepreneurs, we have the power to shape our future and create a life that we love. Remember that failure is not the end but a stepping stone towards success - so embrace opportunities that come your way and don't be afraid to take risks. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who challenge and support you because growth comes from learning and pushing beyond your comfort zone. Believe in yourself because you can achieve greatness and realize your dreams. While chasing your goals with passion and purpose, remember to prioritize your physical and emotional well-being by practicing self-care. As women, we especially tend to overlook ourselves while taking care of everyone else, but carving out time for self-care is crucial. By doing so, we can show up as strong and capable leaders, ready to tackle whatever challenges come our way and achieve our dreams.
